The welcome screen is a Support Event.  See "S" in the diagram above.  Click on the Make & Edit Events tab and note the six column table called Event Specification Table.  This table already contains one row because a blank protocol starts with an "Unspecified Startup Event."  The first (narrow) column contains an "S" in a circle indicating that this is a "Support Event."  The "Event Type" (second column) is "Guidance."  This event is labeled in the third column (see "Unspecified Startup Event").  Click on this temporary name and change it to "Welcome Screen."  Leave the other column entries as is.

Scroll down to the Instrument Construction Area.*   On the top left, you will see the event name "Welcome Screen."  In the text field below the name, enter:
"Greetings Session Supervisors
"Click on the right arrow for the tasks that must be completed in preparation for this experiment.  These include construction of  the context (simulated jury trial) and sample construction."

Preview this event for proper functioning by clicking on the Preview Event button at the top right of the Instrument Construction Area.

* Note that this the Instrument Construction Area is a floating window that you can reposition on your screen.  For example, to move it up, click anywhere on the top bar and drag it while holding down the mouse.  When you leave this page and return, it will remember this position.
