To assess the intensity of the subject's pretest opinion regarding the foodstamp issue (see I1 above) click on the Create menu at the top left of the Event Specification Table.  Select "Measurement" and then "Sliderbar."

Now there should be four events (rows) in the Event Specification Table.   In the first column, there should be an "M" in a circle indicating that this event is a Measurement.  To its right and under Event Type it should say "Sliderbar."  Next, under Event Label, it should say "New Sliderbar Measurement."  Change this to "Intensity Foodstamp Opinion."

In the column labeled Event Description, enter "This is a measurement of the intensity of the subject's position on food stamps given party cues."

Scroll down to the Instrument Construction Area with the heading "Intensity Foodstamp Opinion." In the box labeled "Number of labels to show along with the sliderbar," enter "5."  In the space for a question or statement, enter "How strongly do you feel about higher government spending on food stamps?"  In the fields for the five labels by the check boxes, enter from the top down "Strongly Support," Support," Neutral," "Oppose," and "Strongly Oppose."
