Specify the Welcome Screen

We can start making events by creating a Welcome Screen and a "Thank You" End page.  These are called "Support Events."

Click on the Make & Edit Events tab and note the six column table called Event Specification Table.  This table already contains one row because a blank protocol starts with an "Unspecified Startup Event."  The first (narrow) column contains an "S in a circle," which indicates that this is a "Support Event."  The "Event Type" (second column) is "Guidance."  This event is labeled in the third column (see "Unspecified Guidance Support Event").  Click on this temporary name and change it to "Welcome Screen."  Leave the other column entries as is.

Scroll down to the Instrument Construction Area.   On the top left, you will see the event name "Welcome Screen."
[Note that this window is a floating window, so that you can reposition it on your screen.  For example, to move it up, click anywhere on the top bar and drag it while holding down the mouse.  When you leave this page and return, it will remember this position.]

In the text field below the name, enter:
"WELCOME"
"Click on the right arrow to begin.  Read each question carefully and then click on the answer that best fits your opinion."

Preview this event for proper functioning by clicking on the Preview Event button at the top right of the Instrument Construction Area.
